How to remove a team member or leave a workspace

Whether you're an artist managing your team or a collaborator moving on, here's how to handle workspace membership changes.

๐Ÿšช Remove a team member (for Admins)

Only Admins can remove members from a workspace.

To remove someone:

  1. Click your profile picture (top right)

  2. Click Account Settings

  3. Click Workspace Management

  4. Find the member in the list

  5. Click Remove next to their name

  6. Confirm the removal

What happens:

  • They lose access immediately

  • They can no longer see or edit anything in the workspace

  • Any work they contributed stays in the workspace

  • They'll need a new invite to rejoin

Good to know: Removing someone doesn't delete their Orphiq account - just their access to your workspace. You can re-invite them later if needed.

๐Ÿƒ Leave a workspace (for anyone)

Any member can leave a workspace they no longer need access to.

To leave:

  1. Click your profile picture (top right)

  2. Click Account Settings

  3. Click Workspace Management

  4. Scroll to the bottom

  5. Click Leave Workspace

  6. Confirm you want to leave

What happens:

  • You lose access immediately

  • You can no longer see or edit anything in the workspace

  • Any work you contributed stays in the workspace

  • You'll need a new invite to rejoin

For Industry professionals: Leaving a workspace frees up your pass, so you can use it for another artist's workspace.

โš ๏ธ What if you're the only Admin?

If you're the only Admin in a workspace, you can't leave - someone needs to manage it.

Your options:

  1. Make someone else Admin first - Then you can leave

  2. Delete the workspace - If you no longer need it (this removes everything permanently)

If you're the workspace owner (the artist who claimed it), you can't transfer ownership. The workspace is tied to your identity. You can add other Admins, but it remains yours.

๐Ÿ”ฎ What happens to the data?

When someone is removed or leaves:

  • All content they created or edited stays in the workspace

  • Nothing is deleted or taken with them

  • The workspace continues exactly as it was, minus their access

The workspace belongs to the artist, not the team. Collaborators contribute to it, but the artist retains everything.

๐Ÿ’ก Pro Tip

Before removing someone, consider changing their role to Viewer first. That way they can still see progress without being able to edit. You can always remove them fully later.
